  1. Do they meet Texas code when it comes to Cooperative identity? Is this Co-op enterprise owned by the members? Couldn’t tell on a visit to their website. http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/Docs/BO/htm/BO.251.htm

Sec. 251.452. USE OF NAME “COOPERATIVE.” (a) Only a cooperative association governed by this chapter, a group organized on a cooperative basis under another law of this state, or a foreign entity operating on a cooperative basis and authorized to do business in this state may use the term “cooperative” or any abbreviation or derivation of the term “cooperative” as part of its business name or represent itself, in advertising or otherwise, as conducting business on a cooperative basis.

  2. Thank you for this great article Carolyn! We are modeled after the larger Houston Food Co-ops. We are more of a buying club where we all go in together to purchase organic goods in bulk at a discounted rate. We do this while focusing on helping our local farmers and chefs get a fair price for their talents and goods. In this way we are helping support our local economy and neighbors in our own backyard. Our focus is on building a community of like-minded/healthy-minded people with a central place to converge.

  3. Hello i would like to get hold of raw goats milk – but i live in houston and its just too much of a drive to obtain that regularly – is there any co-op out there that delivers to houston goat milk (raw)?
