Really?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Everyone knows that eating a low-fat, low-calorie diet and getting regular exercise helps shed pounds.&#8221; Yep, that&#8217;s how this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.physorg.com\/news\/2011-04-diet-effective-weight-loss-method.html\" target=\"_blank\">article on physorg.com<\/a> begins.\u00a0 REALLY, EVERYONE??\u00a0 I just had to address today&#8217;s article with a quick response.\u00a0 Because of the frequent occurrence of such unsubstantiated statements as &#8220;Everyone knows,&#8221; I&#8217;m sure we&#8217;ll have much more in the future about the negatives of low-fat diets and the benefits of including good, healthy fats in the diet, both for weight loss and for good health.<\/p>\n<p>No, everyone does not know that a low-fat diet helps reduce weight or promote good health.\u00a0 There&#8217;s lots of evidence, some recent and some much older, that a low-fat diet is not the answer to losing weight nor to any other health benefit, although it is important that the fats included in the diet are good, healthy, traditional fats.\u00a0 Here are just a quick few references&#8211;from respected, well-researched books, articles, and websites&#8211;that prove <strong>not everyone<\/strong> knows now nor ever did:<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.westonaprice.org\/know-your-fats\" target=\"_blank\">Know Your Fats<\/a><\/strong> on The Weston A. Price Foundation website<br \/>\n<em><strong>Good Calories, Bad Calories<\/strong> by Gary Taubes<\/em><br \/>\n<em><strong>Nourishing Traditions<\/strong><\/em> by Sally Fallon<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/articles.mercola.com\/sites\/articles\/archive\/2010\/12\/07\/why-is-butter-better.aspx\">Why Butter is Better<\/a><\/strong> on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mercola.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dr. Mercola website<\/a><br \/>\n<em><strong>Nutrition and Physical Degeneration<\/strong><\/em> by Dr. Weston A.
