\"Home<\/a>Houston’s first and largest Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, Home Sweet Farm,\u00a0will have farm tour and CSA orientation\u00a0this Sunday, February 12th.\u00a0 I just learned about the tour and the deadline to sign up was yesterday, but if you’re interested, call them today–maybe there’s still space.\u00a0 Each visiting family will take home a share of fresh veggies, including broccoli, green cabbage, carrots, napa\u00a0cabbage, daikon radish, savoy cabbage, cauliflower, arugula, and other seasonal produce.\u00a0 The cost per family for the farm tour and veggie share\u00a0is $30, $15 for current CSA members.\u00a0 Call 979-251-9922.<\/p>\n

The Home Sweet Farm CSA\u00a0delivers to several Houston drop sites on Tuesdays and Thursdays.\u00a0 Here’s the current schedule<\/a>.\u00a0 There are openings still available for the Spring 2012 season.\u00a0 Visit the CSA web page<\/a> for more information about getting a share of fresh, local produce.<\/p>\n

If you’re not familiar with CSAs: members prepay for a season of produce.\u00a0 Prepayment allows the farm to know how much\u00a0and what\u00a0to plant for the season.\u00a0 Home Sweet Farm delivers 30+ weeks per year, and members commit for a year at $28-31\/week, depending on delivery site.<\/p>\n
