{"id":2138,"date":"2012-03-04T18:48:48","date_gmt":"2012-03-05T00:48:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/realfoodhouston.com\/?p=2138"},"modified":"2012-03-04T18:48:48","modified_gmt":"2012-03-05T00:48:48","slug":"real-food-in-houston-bare-bowls-kitchen-food-truck","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.realfoodhouston.com\/wp-files\/2012\/03\/04\/real-food-in-houston-bare-bowls-kitchen-food-truck\/","title":{"rendered":"REAL FOOD in Houston &#8211; Bare Bowls Kitchen Food Truck"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/realfoodhouston.com\/wp-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_1070.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-2139\" title=\"Bare Bowls Kitchen Lamb Bowl\" src=\"http:\/\/realfoodhouston.com\/wp-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_1070-1024x835.jpg\" alt=\"Bare Bowls Kitchen Lamb Bowl\" width=\"640\" height=\"521\" \/><\/a>My daughter is a\u00a0Houston food truck foodie, and today\u00a0she took me to one that serves REAL FOOD!\u00a0 Yes, REAL FOOD\u00a0from the <a title=\"Bare Bowls Kitchen\" href=\"http:\/\/www.barebowlskitchen.com\/bbk.html\" target=\"_blank\">Bare Bowls Kitchen<\/a>\u00a0food truck.\u00a0 Take a look at that yummy bowl (cup) topped with a freshly poached\u00a0duck egg.\u00a0 Homemade lamb sausage, kale, tomatoes, mushrooms, broccoli, and mashed potato&#8211;deeelicious.\u00a0 There&#8217;s more&#8211;the lamb is pastured <em>and<\/em> the veggies were bought just the day before from a local Houston farmers market.\u00a0\u00a0How more\u00a0REAL can you get? <a href=\"http:\/\/realfoodhouston.com\/wp-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_1066.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2143\" title=\"Bare Bowls Kitchen Menu\" src=\"http:\/\/realfoodhouston.com\/wp-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_1066-300x217.jpg\" alt=\"Bare Bowls Kitchen Menu\" width=\"300\" height=\"217\" \/><\/a>\u00a0 Here&#8217;s what was on today&#8217;s menu (it varies depending on what&#8217;s available locally). I chose the lamb bowl with\u00a0a duck egg and, of course,\u00a0kombucha,\u00a0and my daughter had the chicken bowl with a chicken egg and fresh apple juice. They can make the bowl just like you like it too, so when\u00a0my daughter\u00a0wanted kale in her chicken bowl,\u00a0they added some.\u00a0 Just in case you can tell, I was so looking forward to eating my lamb bowl, that I took a bite before I remembered to take the photos.\u00a0 Not <em>too<\/em> noticeable, is it?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/realfoodhouston.com\/wp-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_1104.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-2144\" title=\"Chef James Ashley\" src=\"http:\/\/realfoodhouston.com\/wp-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_1104-300x241.jpg\" alt=\"Chef James Ashley\" width=\"300\" height=\"241\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Chef James\u00a0Ashley is the inspiration behind Bare Bowls (he also owns and operates <a title=\"Pure Catering\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ourpurecatering.com\/pure.html\" target=\"_blank\">Pure Catering<\/a>) and he&#8217;s on a mission.\u00a0 You can see it in his eyes when he talks about\u00a0providing\u00a0healthy\u00a0local\u00a0REAL food at a price people can afford.\u00a0 Chef James is a native Texan and is classically French trained.
