chickens in your backyard,\u00a0maybe for fresh eggs?\u00a0\u00a0There&#8217;s a new group, <a title=\"Hens for Houston\" href=\"http:\/\/hensforhouston.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hens for Houston<\/a>, that is trying to make that possible.\u00a0 Their vision is &#8220;to promote a sustainable and progressive Houston in which city dwellers can keep 4-6 hens on the small city lots such as those found inside the Beltway and the 610 loop.&#8221;\u00a0 They want to work toward changing the\u00a0current <a href=\"http:\/\/library.municode.com\/index.aspx?clientId=10123&amp;stateId=43&amp;stateName=Texas\" target=\"_blank\">code requirements<\/a> for\u00a0Houston residents, which\u00a0make it\u00a0virtually impossible to keep chickens\u00a0on city-sized lots.\u00a0 If you don&#8217;t want to sort through all those regulations, I found a Houston blogger, RussBLib,\u00a0who has conveniently done that for us in his post <a href=\"http:\/\/russblib.blogspot.com\/2011\/05\/chickens-in-houston.html\" target=\"_blank\">Chickens for Houston?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hens for Houston is just getting started and is looking for help on background research and in developing\u00a0a proposed new ordinance.\u00a0 Do you have experience with backyard chickens, want to see this change, get
