{"id":4754,"date":"2013-07-23T17:41:35","date_gmt":"2013-07-23T22:41:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/realfoodhouston.com\/?p=4754"},"modified":"2018-07-22T20:58:05","modified_gmt":"2018-07-23T01:58:05","slug":"real-peach-ice-cream-in-15-minutes-or-less-including-cleanup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.realfoodhouston.com\/wp-files\/2013\/07\/23\/real-peach-ice-cream-in-15-minutes-or-less-including-cleanup\/","title":{"rendered":"REAL Peach Ice Cream in 15 Minutes (or Less) Including Cleanup!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/realfoodhouston.com\/wp-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Bowl-of-Peach-Ice-Cream.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-4759\" src=\"http:\/\/realfoodhouston.com\/wp-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Bowl-of-Peach-Ice-Cream-300x243.jpg\" alt=\"Bowl of Peach Ice Cream\" width=\"300\" height=\"243\" \/><\/a>It&#8217;s summertime hot in Houston, and what could be better in hot weather than cool, creamy ice cream?\u00a0 We love our homemade REAL ice cream, and one of our favorites\u00a0(maybe number 1) is peach.\u00a0 There are many ways to make real ice cream [see my post <a href=\"http:\/\/realfoodhouston.com\/2013\/03\/19\/real-vanilla-ice-cream\/\">REAL Vanilla Ice Cream<\/a>], but if you want ice cream right away, this is a super delicious AND super fast way to satisfy your wish for a cool, sweet treat.\u00a0 And don&#8217;t feel guilty while eating it because Real ice cream is not only delicious, it is actually a healthy and nutritious Real Food!<\/p>\n<p>This ice cream really can be made in 15 minutes, including blender cleanup, but you will need to have one ingredient already prepared&#8211;frozen sliced peaches.\u00a0 Peaches are seasonal so when local or organic peaches are available, I buy a lot.\u00a0 Wash, slice, and freeze the peaches.\u00a0 BTW, I don&#8217;t peel them.<\/p>\n<p>To make (almost) instant ice cream, you will also need one key kitchen appliance&#8211;a super powerful blender.\u00a0 We use a Blendtec<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;\" src=\"http:\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=reafoohou-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B000GIGZXM\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" \/>.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t know if a Vita-mix or other blender can do this, but if you know of one, please leave us a note in the comments.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s how to make (almost) instant ice cream:<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>1 cup raw cream (I get mine from a local licensed raw milk dairy)<br \/>\n2-1\/2 cups frozen sliced peaches (these were local, otherwise use organic)<br \/>\n1\/3 to 1\/2 cup organic maple syrup, depending on the sweetness of the peaches (I use Shady Maple)<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon organic vanilla (I use Frontier)<br \/>\n2-3 ice cubes (about 1\/2 cup)<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Preparation<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/realfoodhouston.com\/wp-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Peach-Ice-Cream-Blendtec.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-4760\" src=\"http:\/\/realfoodhouston.com\/wp-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Peach-Ice-Cream-Blendtec-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"Peach Ice Cream - Blendtec\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.realfoodhouston.com\/wp-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Peach-Ice-Cream-Blendtec-200x300.jpg 200w, http:\/\/www.realfoodhouston.com\/wp-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Peach-Ice-Cream-Blendtec-683x1024.jpg 683w, http:\/\/www.realfoodhouston.com\/wp-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Peach-Ice-Cream-Blendtec.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a>Put the ingredients in the order listed into the Blendtec and push the Ice Cream button.\u00a0 Usually the ice cream will be ready in 2 minutes or less.\u00a0 Sometimes a cavitation will occur before the ice cream is well blended.\u00a0 If it does, just turn off the blender, open the top, and stir to collapse the air pocket.\u00a0 Push the Ice Cream button again.\u00a0 The ice cream should be ready in a few more seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Serve immediately and enjoy!<\/p>\n<p>When the ice cream is all gone, which doesn&#8217;t take long at our house, rinse the blender briefly, add a drop of dish soap and a little hot water.\u00a0 Pulse the blender several times.\u00a0 Then rinse.\u00a0 Cleanup shouldn&#8217;t take more than another minute.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve learned to hold a piece of paper towel over the air hole in the lid, otherwise, soapy water may spray out.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t stop up the air hole too tightly or the pressure inside will cause the lip to pop and even more soapy water will spray out.\u00a0 If you wonder how I know this, it&#8217;s because I&#8217;ve learned the hard way!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/realfoodhouston.com\/wp-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Peach-Ice-Cream-finished.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-4761\" src=\"http:\/\/realfoodhouston.com\/wp-files\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Peach-Ice-Cream-finished-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Peach Ice Cream -
