This resource list is designed to help you find the nutritious foods and products you need to be healthy, both locally and online.\u00a0 To reduce toxins in our food and environment, there are sources for useful and safe cookware, kitchen equipment, personal care, household cleaning supplies, and garden supplies. Houston Area Food Resources<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The sources are listed alphabetically under each topic.\u00a0 There is no implied quality ranking due to the position in the list.<\/p>\n

Milk<\/span> and Cheese<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The best milk is whole and raw from local licensed dairies. For Texas licensed dairies in the greater Houston area, go to Local<\/a>. For other raw milk dairies in the U.S., including other parts of Texas, go to RealMilk.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There is another raw milk finder that lists sources in other countries in addition to the US, https:\/\/GetRawMilk.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

If you are unable to find raw milk in your area, the next best option is raw milk cheese.\u00a0 The last choice would be whole, low-temperature pasteurized, non-homogenized milk from grass-fed cows.\u00a0 Conventional, ultra-pasteurized, or homogenized milk is not recommended.<\/p>\n

Raw milk cheeses<\/span> not only taste better they also have all the healthy, nutritious qualities of fresh raw milk. Some grocery stores stock raw milk cheeses.\u00a0 Ask the attendant at the cheese counter.\u00a0 For example, all parmigiano reggiano cheese imported from Italy is raw milk cheese because Italy controls the brand and requires it to be raw.\u00a0 There are several excellent raw milk cheeses available in the Houston area. Regeneration International<\/a> has posted a locator map for regenerative farms.
